Newsletter No : 8 Autumn 2008

1.      We have organised a Jazz Night for 6th September 2008 which will feature Jill Adams and her  group.     The format will be similar to previous JazzNights with Curry being provided during the interval. 

               Tickets now available from the Steward.    Cost £15 per person.

2.      Quiz Night - 18th October 2008.    Get your teams together.   

         Fish and Chips Supper included.    

         Tickets will be available soon - cost £12.50 per person. 
     

3.   Christmas Dinner / Dance 13th December 2008.     We have booked Alex Ashe who was a great success when he performed here last time.

  Tickets will be available soon - Cost £25 per person.

4.      Charity Race Night - Sunday 21st December 2008 - we are finalising arrangements with TonySullivan and William Hill and the intention is that this will be a joint event with William Hill in the Estuary Suite.     It promises to be a fun evening.    More details to follow.

5.      With the support of  COORS we have placed an advertisement in the new Leigh on Sea Town Guide 2008 because we need to attract new members and to ensure that hire of the  Estuary Suite  is maximised.

                                                     

6.      The Estuary Suite is available for hire to Members, their friends and others for parties and social occasions.   This venue provides an important source of income to the Club.     The Estuary Suite will be decorated later this month by Katy and friends and will have new pictures of ‘estuary scenes’ donated by John Bertola and new mirrors donated by the Chairman.    Capacity 100 but seated 60 people.

7.       A retractable sun awning has been donated by Ken Cain but this needs to be fitted so that it provides shade for our patio table.   Volunteers needed (probably from our ‘smoking’ members)!

8.      The Club needs new Members and the Committee encourage you to bring your friends so that they can see for themselves the facilities offered, friendly atmosphere and competitively priced drinks.
